Please Support My Campaign!

I am pleased to announce, I will be running the 2024 TCS New York City Marathon as a member of #TeamVoloKids!

The Volo Kids story began in my hometown of Baltimore back in 2015 in response to the civil unrest sparked by rioting throughout the city. The aim of the Volo Kids Foundation at the time was to use sport as a tool for healing and a means of uniting communities. That same summer I was volunteering as a lacrosse coach for a similar Baltimore-based youth sports and mentorship nonprofit where I saw firsthand how sports can serve as means to improve at-risk youths' physical and mental health regardless of income, gender, race and skill level.

Having access to a healthy life is a right and not a privilege, yet over four million children are classified as physically inactive, which has only been exacerbated by COVID-19. Furthermore, kids from lower income households are more than three times as likely to face barriers preventing them from participating in sports and those same kids are more than six times more likely to quit sports due to costs.

The Volo Kids Foundation is on a mission to tackle these issues by using play to build communities of active, resilient, and confident kids. To execute this vision, they've partnered with City Council members, community organizers, and recreation centers in an effort to ensure every kid has equitable access to the benefits of a healthy life. Volo Kids has since expanded to eight cities across the country and is still growing!

I've committed to fundraising at least $3,750 for Volo Kids Foundation to ensure every kid has access to free, quality sports programs - I hope you will join me by making a gift today. For one child to access a season of sports with Volo Kids, it costs $175. Join me in making a gift today to help unlock the power of play for every kid.

Your donation will help fund free youth sports programing at no costs to players or families. Volo Kids' sister organization Volo already is the largest social sport company in the US that provides year-round access for adults 21+ to participate in a variety of sports, fitness, tournaments and social activities. The unique relationship between Volo and The Volo Kids Foundation creates a synergistic effect. As more players sign up to play in Volo's adult programs, they can fund more youth programs. Furthermore, those who volunteer with the foundation get to play for free in Volo's adult programs, allowing for each organization to benefit from the other.

Volo Kids impact in numbers:

About me: I grew up in Baltimore, MD before attending Hobart College in Geneva, NY. I've since lived and worked in NYC for five years where I've come to love running in my leisure time as manner to stay physically fit but also explore new parts of the city and meet new people. After numerous failed lottery attempts over the years and excessive FOMO watching friends and strangers alike have a blast running in the NYC marathon, I've been fortunate enough this year to have the opportunity to run for Volo Kids. While I've run various half marathons, this will be my first attempt at a full and I couldn't be more excited. I greatly appreciated your support in my fundraising goals and hope we can all celebrate after the finish line!
